Sounds Modern presents At Home with the Modern, a concert in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Modern Art Museum building. Like the Modern’s current exhibition, our program features favorites from our collection and some fresh new discoveries: chamber music of modern masters Philip Glass, Elliott Carter, John Cage, and Lou Harrison, maverick innovators Stuart Smith, Salvatore Sciarrino, and Chaya Czernowin, and a premiere from Marcos Balter. John Cage’s Living Room Music will set the scene on Saturday, May 11 at 2 pm in the Modern’s auditorium. Elizabeth McNutt (flute), Christopher Deane (percussion), Matt Albert (violin), Rachel Yoder (clarinet), and other stars of modern music in DFW will perform. Admission is free and open to the public (museum admission is separate).
